Synopsis: Liverpool, 1979: What starts as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper relationship, with Turner being the one person Gloria Grahame allows herself to turn to for comfort and strength. Gloria Grahame was the Hollywood leading lady at the heart of several 1950s hit films including In a Lonely Place, The Big Heat and Oklahoma!. She won the Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Bad and the Beautiful.

Paul McGuigan [Lucky Number Slevin (2006), Push (2009), Wicker Park (2004)] sensitively brings this emotional, biographical drama to the screen with an outstanding ensemble and two wonderful lead performances.
Based on the moving true life story of the vibrant affair between legendary Oscar-winning Hollywood star, Gloria Grahame (Annette Bening) and her young lover, aspiring actor, Peter Turner (Jamie Bell) when they meet in the late 1970s. Their romance quickly grows into a deeper relationship despite a thirty year age gap, with Peter being the person that Gloria allows herself to turn to for comfort and strength when severely tested.
It is impossible not to be moved by this endearing stranger-than-fiction love story, especially the marvellous central performances of Bell and Bening and the excellent supporting cast.
