Director Todd Philips (The Hangover (2009), The Hangover II (2011), The Hangover III (2013)  has cast Miles Teller (Whiplash (2014), Divergent (2014) Rabbit Hole (2010) and Jonah Hill  (Sausage Party (2016), Hail, Ceaser! (2016), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) as the unlikely arms dealers in this true-life comedy based on a Guy Lawson article in Rolling Stone ‘Arms and the Dudes’

Firmly in the realm of ‘truth is stranger than fiction’, David (Miles Teller) and Efraim (Jonah Hill) are a pair of twenty-something dudes living in Miami Beach who stumble upon a great money-making scheme during the Iraq War. A little-known government initiative permits small businesses to bid for US military contracts. They’re soon raking in cash and partying hard, but bite off rather more than they can chew when they under-bid spectacularly to land a $300m Pentagon deal to arm the Afghan military. Now the inept, gun-running duo find themselves rubbing shoulders with some very shady characters indeed – many of whom have their own agenda.

This is a fast paced, at times jaw-dropping, dark comedy drama revealing yet another sinister aspect of America’s military-industrial complex. Watch out for a standout cameo from Bradley Cooper in the supporting cast.
