Charlie Brown and his beagle Snoopy return to charm a new generation in a CGI animation from director Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift, 2012; Horton Hears a Who!, 2008) to mark the 65th anniversary of the much loved ‘Peanuts’ cartoon strip.

This is the first theatrical Peanuts film in 35 years and the first since the death of creator Charles M Schulz in 2000 and is co-written by his son Craig and grandson Bryan.

This is a charming re-introduction or introduction to this classic cartoon strip with its cute, clever and witty characters, combining high production values with old school gags and featuring some great ensemble voice cast work and an excellent sweeping musical score from Christophe Beck (Frozen, 2013; Edge of Tomorrow, 2014).

Packed with gentle, old-fashioned, Americana type charm and wry smiles, this visually appealing new digital Peanuts film is a quirky treat and (surprisingly topically for UK television viewers) Charlie Brown decides to do his book report on Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace which was said to be Charles M Schultz’s favourite novel.
