Director Max Joseph [Garden of Eden (2012) and Saab Story (2010)] brings this rites of passage drama starring Zac Efron as an aspiring DJ Cole Carter in this musically themed drama. Cole is a young man disillusioned with the world of bank bailouts, student loans and job insecurity, living on the wrong side of the Hollywood hills.  He has ploughed his energies into his great passion, music DJ’ing. Along with his friends, Cole is looking to break into the electronic music scene but finds opportunities thin on the ground until he meets a veteran DJ (Wes Bentley) a mentor/nemesis who shows him the path to a potentially bright future – however Cole may have to sacrifice loyalty to his friends in order to achieve his dream.

The talented ensemble also includes British actress and model Emily Ratajkwoski as Sophie, Shiloh Fernandez (Ollie), Jonny Weston (Mason), Alex Shaffer (Squirrel) and Jon Bernthal (Paige).

This melancholic and emotional coming of age drama plays out to a soundtrack of classic club hits, including the film’s eponymous floor filler from Justice vs. Simian.
