Director:  Matthew Vaughn

Cast: Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton, Samuel L Jackson, Mark Strong

Synopsis: The story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.

This super-stylish action thriller pays homage to the popular spy films of the 1960s and 1970s in a thoroughly updated way. Suave British super spy (Colin Firth) trains up an unlikely and unrefined new recruit ‘Eggsy’ Unwin (Taron Egerton) at the moment a twisted tech genius Valentine (Samuel L Jackson) is planning world domination.

Based on Mark Millar’s bestselling comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass 2013) Kingsman – The Secret Service is a Pygmalian meets James Bond rollicking spy action tale with thrills and spills a plenty.  With a dream cast that also includes Michael Caine, Mark Strong and Samuel L Jackson, the film has gloriously spectacular over the top action and fight scenes.

While it pays homage to classic spy film genre classics, it is utterly contemporary.  The theme of two classes colliding and the film’s new and refreshing style make Kingsman – the Secret Service a hilarious and early hit of the year
