Synopsis: With the Games now destroyed, Katniss wakes up in District 13 with the revolution brewing and Peeta trapped in the Capitol. Under the leadership of President Coin, and the advice of her friends, Katniss becomes the Mockingjay and the symbol of rebellion for the people of Panem.



Feisty Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) leads a rebellion against the Capitol as the penultimate film of the Hunger Games story builds to its stunning climax. Returning Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence continues the incredible Games saga, adapted from the final book in Suzanne Collins’ bestselling trilogy.  Katniss must assume the role of the eponymous Mockingjay, while her personal love triangle with Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – thought to be dead but held captive in the Capitol – and Gale (Liam Hemsworth) continues. Under the leadership of President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore), Plutarch Heavensbee (one of the final performances of the great Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson). Katniss joins with the rebels including new character, film director Cressida Flickerman (new cast member Natalie Dormer), who records the Mockingjay’s battles against the Capitol to use as propaganda to defeat the tyrannical President Snow (Donald Sutherland).

The themes of media invasion and distortion are foregrounded in this episode, with the continued presence of StanleyTucci as Caesar Flickerman guaranteeing a quality product.

With strong performances from all the stellar cast and plenty of action and suspense, this film is sure to please fans with its stunning visuals, special effects and much more complex political, media and sociological themes.

With the final episode already shot back-to-back with this film, it’s clear that on its release next year there will be action and surprises galore as this impressive futuristic sci-fi quartet concludes.
